I manage a large 7 story building in downtown Missoula and having a good plumbing and mechanical firm working in my building is imperative. I have been using Garden City Plumbing and Heating for several years and they are the best firm I have ever worked with. I have had many opportunities to work with the plumbing and mechanical side of this firm. All of their techs are top notch and do an excellent job, are through and clean up when the job is complete. They have after hours emergency service which is a huge relief when you need service after business hours. Garden City has a preventative maintenance program that is great and they keep on top of all the mechanical systems to keep them operating efficiently and will let you know when you should start budgeting for replacement. Their office staff is very friendly and lets you know when the tech has been dispatched. Some of the office staff came to my building personally to see the equipment that is in the preventative maintenance program so when I call for service they are familiar with what the tech will be working on. I Highly recommend Garden City Plumbing and Heating.
The correct answer really depends on your building and your environment. We recommend checking your filters every month, and changing them when they get too dirty. That being said, we recommend changing your filters, at minimum, every 6 months.
If you think there might be issues with your ductwork, we definitely recommend you have it inspected.
It really depends how the system is used and maintained; but, typical life expectancy for commercial HVAC system is estimated around 15 years.
