At Garden City Plumbing and Heating we know that Western Montanans expect the air quality inside their home to be as clean as the outdoor air of the Big Sky state.
When we think of air quality we normally think of outdoor air pollution: smog, auto emission, factory smoke etc. Recent studies find that we have been leaving out a large portion of the polluted air that surrounds us. Leading environmental health researchers have found that indoor air is often two to five times more polluted then outdoor air, and can be up to 1,000 times more contaminated in extreme circumstances. Common indoor air pollutants include mold, asbestos, animal dander and waste, insulation fibers and building material off-gasses including furniture and flooring. Given that the majority of us spend up to 90% of our time indoors the health risks associated with indoor air quality are something to take seriously.
